Obituary of Patricia A. O'Halloran

Patricia O'Halloran, age 64, died on February 7, 2013 after a long and valiant struggle with breast cancer. Raised in Pitman, Pat was a 1967 graduate of Mount St. Mary's Academy, North Plainfield, NJ and a 1971 graduate of Glassboro State College, now Rowan University. After college, she taught French and English at Washington Township Middle School and later worked for a travel agency. In 1977, Pat began a highly successful 35-year career with IBM, retiring as a Transition Solutions Manager in the Global Technology Services Division of IBM. For the past 30 years, Pat lived in Philadelphia, a city she hugely admired. She was an avid reader, enjoyed the theater, and traveled extensively. A gourmet cook and wine enthusiast, Pat took great pleasure in entertaining family and friends. The daughter of William and Mary O'Halloran, Pat is survived by four sisters, Honey (Howard) Cyr, Kathleen (Len) Stevens, Sister Kathleen O'Halloran RSM (Carol), Marge (Bill) Cosgrove, and one brother, Charles (Beverly) O'Halloran. Pat had an unusually close and loving relationship with her 15 nieces and nephews and 40 great nieces and nephews. In addition she had a wide circle of enduring friendships. Her family is grateful for the loving attention of those friends and of her devoted caregivers. Friends may greet the family on Friday 7-9 pm and Saturday 10-10:45 am in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral Mass will be Saturday at 11:00 am in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 161 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ.
