Katherine S. Shafer (nee Selfridge), 93 of Pitman/Washington Township passed away peacefully on April 26, 2009. Kay was a graduate of Pitman High School and a 90 year member of the Pitman United Methodist Church. Kay enjoyed her home, gardening, spending time in Ocean City, NJ, following the Phillies/Eagles and attending her grandson's sporting events.
She was the wife of the late C. William "Bill" Shafer. Beloved mother of daughter Gail P. Shafer of Washington Township, son Chuck Shafer (Vicki) of Carmel, IN and grandson Matthew. Kay is also survived by sister Edith S. Huston Pitman, NJ and brother Dr. George D. Selfridge (Ruth) of Chesterfield, MO and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday 6:30-8:30 PM and Thursday 10 - 11 AM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11 AM. Interment Manahath Cemetery, Glassboro. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Pitman United Methodist Church Building Fund, PO Box 7, Pitman, NJ 08071.
