Obituary of George Paul Brent

Dr. George Paul Brent, age 68, died on May 14, 2009 at his home in Sewell where he lived for the past five years. He formerly lived in Pitman for over 25 years. George was raised in Newton, MA, and was a graduate of Boston University. He received his Doctorate of Education from University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He began his career at Rowan University in 1971. There he taught Elementary Education and served as Chairman of the Department, retiring in 2003. During his career, George assisted with the writing of many grants and education research for inner city schools.
He is survived by his wife Maria (nee Ganotes), daughter Elisabeth F.R. at home, brother David of NC, sisters Jane Rock and Judi Moore, both of NH, nieces and nephews Macki and Jennifer Brent, Jeanne Prescott, Michelle Tempesta, Jeffrey Rock, great niece Aryn Maura Prescott and great nephew CJ Rock.
Friends may call after 6:30pm on Tuesday in the Church of the Good Shepherd, 315 Highland Terrace, Pitman, NJ. Burial service read at 7:30pm.
