Donald "Toby" A. Tobiason, age 82 died on July 6, 2009. Born in Brooklyn, New York to Swedish immigrants, he was a graduate of Woodbury High School, class of 1945, where he was captain of the varsity football team, playing both offensive center and defensive linebacker. From high school he was drafted into the Army. He was a WWII Army Veteran serving in Germany from 1945-1947. He moved to Pitman in 1958 and enjoyed living there the rest of his life. It was in Pitman where began his career as a banker with Pitman National Bank and Trust Co. Toby retired as Vice President in 1987 from First Fidelty Bank, Pitman branch. He was an active member of the Pitman Lions Club and the Florence Masonic Lodge of Woodbury. He was a lifelong avid Phillies fan and world traveler, making several trips back to his parents' native county of Sweden. He is survived by his children Donna (Joseph) Grimshaw of Mullica Hill, Carol (Frank) Fagundus of Washington Twp, grandchildren Scott Grimshaw, Julie Graves, Becky Carr, Matthew Fagundus, Andrew Fagundus and two great grandchildren Ava and Ryan. Friends may call on Friday after 6:30pm in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave , Pitman , NJ . A Memorial Service will be at 7:30pm. Interment private in Gloucester County Veteran's Cemetery.
