Jeanne C. Maloney Banff (nee Kier) of Glassboro, age 60 went to sit at Jesus' feet on October 10, 2009. Daughter of the late Edmund and Florence (nee Morgan) Kier, she is survived by her loving husband William L. Banff, and her son Dan Maloney of Palm Bay, Fl, siblings James (Maureen) Kier of Pitman, Judy (Joe) Phillips of Hainesport, Jack (Donna) Kier of Williamstown and Jill Kier of Sewell, her beloved pets, Missy and Duby, plus many nieces and nephews. Jeanne was a minister's wife for the Friendship and Porchtown Methodist Churches for about two years. She graduated from Glassboro State College in 1971 and from Rowan University with her Masters degree in 1999. Jeanne began teaching in 1971 and taught at Deptford for two years and was at Bells School in Washington Township for 31 years, where she substituted ever since her retirement. She was very active in the Pitman United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir, and with a singing trio, "SIS" Sisters in Spirit. She was also part of the Vacation Bible School and Chairman of the Membership Team. She was involved with the Family Promise Program and volunteered at Ranch Hope Thrift store and the Pitman Manor. In 2004, she founded and taught a weight loss/healthy living program for the church called P.A.L.S. (Praying, Acting, Losing and Sharing). This ministry was her current passion. Relatives and friends are invited to celebrate Jeanne's life on October 18 at 2pm in the Pitman United Methodist Church, 758 N. Broadway, Pitman, NJ 08071. In lieu of flowers contributions may be given to the Pitman United Methodist Church Mortgage Fund or the American Cancer Society, 1851 Old Cuthbert Rd, Cherry Hill, NJ 08034.
