Phyllis C. Harper (nee Barker), age 83 died on December 3, 2009. Born and raised in Bridgeport, NJ she graduated from Paulsboro High School in 1943. She has lived in Pitman for the past 41 years. For the past 41 years, Phyllis and her husband spent summers on the Chesapeake Bay. She loved spending time on the Chesapeake where she enjoyed having her children and grandchildren visit her.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years Arthur "Buzz" Harper, sons Charles "Chip" Gerst of Newport Beach, CA, William (Lois) Gerst of Tabernacle, NJ, Steve (Deb) Harper of Malaga, NJ, William (Deb) Harper of Malaga, NJ, James Harper of Ocean City, NJ, brother in law Earl Campbell of Brideport, 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Friends may call on Tuesday after 9am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service 11am. Interment Eglington Cemetery. Contributions may be made to Pitman Fire Patrol, PO Box 37, Pitman, NJ 08071. Memories may be shared at www.kelleyfhpitman.com.
