Daniel Russell Kinsley, Jr., "Dick", passed away January 16, in Christiana Hospital from pancreatitis complications at the age of 84. Born in Methodist Hospital, Philadelphia on July 13, 1925, he was baptized the day of his birth due to birth trauma. He survived: being retrieved from a well when he was three; an allergic anaphylactic shock from serum during his childhood; being paralyzed by Guillain-Barre from swine flu in 1978; and cardiac arrest followed by several heart surgeries at Christiana Hospital in 1988. The skilled care of Dr. Donald B. Weems, Dr. Michael Stillabower, Dr. Alan Warrington and Christiana Hospital is appreciated. He retired from Owens Corning Fiberglass, Barrington, NJ after 26 years of service, where he was also a member of Glass Bottle Blowers Association Union. He was a constituent of Hockessin United Methodist Church. His past residences included: Philadelphia; Deptford Twp., NJ; Woodstown, NJ; and most recently, Wilmington, DE. Dan was an avid fan of both the Phillies and Eagles. He leaves: his beloved wife of 62 years, Doris (nee Kuhn); daughter Janice (Jeffrey) Jones of Lake View, NY; two sons Daniel, III of Turnersville, NJ, and Donald (Diana) of Kennett Square, PA; four cherished grandchildren, Alyson Jones of Montreal, Quebec, Canada; Vanessa Jones of Dorchester, MA; Caroline and Daniel Kinsley of Kennett Square, PA. The family cat, Mia, will miss him. Friends may call on Wednesday from 9 to 10:45 AM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral service at 11AM. Interment Bethel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in Dan's memory to Hockessin United Methodist Church, 7250 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin, DE 19707 or Bethel United Methodist Church, 481 Delsea Drive, Sewell, NJ 08080.
