Obituary of Claire Mabel Turk

Claire Mabel Turk, age 85 died on April 20, 2010. She lived in Richwood for the past 15 years. She was a graduate of Glassboro High School (1941). Claire enjoyed the supportive role of a clergyman's wife. She sang in the Sisterhood Chorus of the South Jersey United Methodist Conference, was a member of the Women's Society of Christian Service, taught Sunday School, Bible School and assisted with youth groups of the churches her husband served. She worked in day care centers in Browns Mills and Bridgeton. Claire enjoyed spending time with her family as well as gardening, reading, traveling and baking. She is survived by her husband of 64 years Rev. Harold F., children Rev. Gary (Linda), Gordon, Gayla, Gloria Turk, sisters Elinore Curnell, Janet Nelson, Katherine Hoglen, Barbara Hawkey, brother Lawrence Scott, grandchildren Heather (Charles) Wilson, Cheryl Turk, Gary Jr. (Holly), Sophia Cianfrano and 3 great grandchildren Caitlin Wilson, Madison and Aidan Turk. She is predeceased by her granddaughter Rebecca Lynn Turk. Friends may call on Saturday 9:30-11am in Evangelical United Methodist Church, 14 W. Cohawkin Rd, Clarksboro, NJ 08020. Funeral service will be at 11am. Interment Richwood Cemetery.
