Evelyn E. Myers (nee Magee) of Pitman, NJ, died July 16, age 99 years. She was born on May 4, 1911 in Glassboro, daughter of the late Samuel and Mary Ann (Smith) Magee. She was the youngest of 6 children; Beatrice Mecouch, Alvin Magee, Thelma Miller, Lawrence "Yock" Magee, and Mildred Houck all whom predeceased her. She was raised in Richwood and graduated from Glassboro High School in 1929. She lived most of her life in Clayton and on the Elk Township side of Silver Lake. The last years of her life were spent at the Pitman Manor. After her high school graduation, she went to work at Hungerford and Terry where she met her husband Frank C. Myers from Stratford, Ontario. He predeceased her in 1978. They were married for 44 years and she is survived by her 2 children, Gordon (Sally) Myers of Elk Twp. and Constance (Steve) Latham of Mullica Hill, grandchildren Stacey, Douglas, Marcie, Jane, Elizabeth, Jon, Susanne, and 14 great grandchildren. She had a wonderful life with strong family relationships with her siblings, their families and her own family. She enjoyed the many family picnics, birthday parties and get-togethers that were held over her lifetime. She also enjoyed an active social life with friends and couples playing bridge, traveling and entertaining at her house at the Jersey shore. Her husband was mayor of Clayton during the 1940's and president of the Clayton Kiwanis Club. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Twigs of Underwood Mem. Hosp., and Clayton Sinawik Club. As a farmer's daughter, she enjoyed planting flowers and bushes, and having pets around the house. She was almost never without a pet dog or cat. Katie and Vanna were two of the last. Although not a fan of broadcasted sports when the families were growing up, she became in her later years, an avid Eagles supporter and would plan her Sundays accordingly. Friends may call on Monday after 10 AM in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Funeral service at 11 AM. Interment Manahath Cemetery.
