Obituary of Robert W. Thumlert

Robert W. Thumlert, Sr. age 68, of Monroeville passed away at home on Saturday, July 31, 2010. Beloved husband of Linda M. Thumlert (nee Giunta) of 41 years and devoted father of Robert W. Thumlert, Jr (Kristina), Brandon S. Thumlert and Kurt J. Thumlert (Beth). Proud grandfather of Victoria, Sophia, Hunter and Kendall Thumlert. Robert W. Thumlert, Sr. was the son of the late George S. Thumlert, Sr. of Monroeville and Gladys Gritz of Upper Pittsgrove. Predeceased by George S. Thumlert, Jr. (Vicky) and survived by Janet Alexander (Joe), Roy Thumlert (Heidi), Joey Gritz (Yolanda) and Christina Gritz. He had many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. Many interest include farming and nature along with frequent trips to the casino. He worked at A&P for 42 years and was part of the Local 1360 Union Board and Committee. He also devoted time to the Elk Township School Board, Township Board and Zoning Board. He also was a veteran who served time in Korea. Upon retirement much of his time was devoted to family and friends. His kind-hearted and thoughtfulness will always be remembered by all. Friends may call on Wednesday, 7-9pm and Thursday 9:30-10:30am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ.
