Louis G. Hannum, Sr., age 97 of Pitman, NJ and Trout Creek, MT passed away at his son's home in Montana on August 12th. Predeceased by his wife, Helen (nee Doody) and daughter Cheryl Gallagher. Survived by his sons Michael (Irma), Lou Jr. (Jean) and Mark and son in law Jim Gallagher. Also survived by his devoted caretaker Elizabeth Glackin. Lou had 9 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Louis was the son of the late Isaac and Barbara Hannum. Born in Elizabeth, NJ and raised in Williamstown. He and his wife, Helen purchased Campbell's Express in 1945 which he operated out of his home on Elm Avenue in Pitman for many years until he moved the business to Laurel Drive in 1966 where he also founded Pitman Warehousing. Lou was very active in his church and the Knights of Columbus Council 6247, where he held the offices of Grand Knight, District Deputy and Master of the 4th Degree. He was also President of the SJ Chapter of Deborah Hospital. After his wife passed in 1995 he spent his summers in Montana and winters in Pitman. Friends may call on Saturday 9am-10:45am in Catholic Community of the Holy Spirit Church (Holy Name of Jesus), 17 Earlington Ave, Mullica Hill, NJ. Funeral mass will be at 11am.
