Pearl B. Diem (nee Barth), age 84 years of Pitman, NJ died October 2. Born in Minneapolis, MN, she had lived in Pitman since 1953. She was a graduate of Frankford High School in Philadelphia and Glassboro State College in 1974. She was a 30 year member of the Board of Directors for the Child Development Center in Glassboro, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, participated in Operation Standdown, and traveled all over the United States assisting homeless veterans with clothing, physicals, and housing. She was a member of the 1st Presbyterian Church of Pitman, where she taught Sunday School and was a member of the Presbyterian Women's Association. She was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star #57, Pitman, NJ. She enjoyed working the polls on Election Day and tutoring. Along with her husband George, they were Grand Marshalls of the Pitman 4th of July Parade in 2009. Pre-deceased by her son Craig W. Diem. Survived by her husband of 66 years, George W., daughters Lynne (Michael) Lowe, Deborah (Fred) Martin, and Mistinette (Harold) Dieter, 6 grandchildren, Nicholas(Jennifer) and Thomas Lowe, Frederick III and Helen Rebecca Martin, Harold David III and Laura Dieter, great granddaughters Abigail and Madeline Lowe. Friends may call on Thursday after 7 pm in the KELLEY FUNERAL HOME, 125 Pitman Ave., Pitman, NJ. Eastern Star service at 8 pm. Funeral service at 11 am on Friday in the 1st Presbyterian Church , 305 S. Broadway, Pitman, 08071, where friends may call from 9:45 to 10:45 am. Interment Glouc. Co. Veteran's Cemetery.
