Rev. G. Willard Southwick, age 92 died on November 11, 2010. Born and raised in Riverside, NJ he graduated from Temple University in 1944 with a BS in Education, received the STB from Temple School of Theology in 1947 and Master of Divinity from Temple in 1973. During his ministry, Willard served in various Methodist churches in S. Jersey area such as Oceanville, West Berlin, Collingswood, Mantua, Cranbury, Barnegat, New Brunswick, Pitman, West Belmar, Camden, Woodbury and Glendora. He retired in 1983 and moved to Malaga Camp Meeting until moving to the Pitman Manor in 1996. During retirement he returned as Minister of Visitation at Kemble Memorial United Methodist Church and became Chaplain at Malaga Camp Meeting. During his years of active ministry, Willard enjoyed participation in the Methodist Conference Board and Agency. He was a member of the Board of Education, Board of Missions and served as Journalist on the Conference Secretaries Board and served on the Board of Pensions. He was the husband of the late Grace (nee Halvorsen) and the late Katherine (nee Simkins). Survived by his daughter Evelyn (Ron) White of National Park, step daughters Katharine Simpkins, Margaret Chase, Grace Troutman, brother Richard Southwick, grandchildren Kimberly Hughes, Marc White, great grandchildren Taylor, Chelsea and Shane Hughes and Reid and Regan White. Predeceased by grandson Ronald B. White, Jr. Friends may call on Monday 9:30-10:45am in the Pitman United Methodist Church, 728 N. Broadway, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service 11am.
