Ken was the ultimate gentle man. He did so much for the community. We worked together on numerous United Way committees and he never refused an assignment. He contributed to the welfare of the county and he will be missed by so many. A life well-lived!!

As Ken's niece, I have very fond memories of visiting Ken at the Jersey Shore when I was a child, especially of the first (and only) day I went clamming. Ken took us all in the motorboat, and we climbed out in the squishy mud in the bay. He taught me to feel with my toes for the shells beneath my feet--and we found dozens (and I shrieked when one shell turned out to be a horseshoe crab which waved a finger at me). Once we were back at the house, Ken cajoled me into eating a fresh-shucked clam raw--it felt to me like eating my own tongue. But I know he considered it a real treat and I feel privileged to have shared that day (among many) of marine adventure with Ken.

Ken was and is an outstanding person and a major part of Glassboro State/Rowan's growth. He was wonderful to work with. While handling serious and important matters he never lost his sense of humor.

I knew Dr. Clay from the United Way world and from the then Glassboro State College now Rowan University. In my encounters, he was always friendly and smiling. I was privileged to receive the United Way Leadership award last year without knowing Dr Clay initiated the award. It is deeply humbling to know Dr. Clay conceived the award which fits his life like a glove. Thank you for sharing such a great person with our community. His legacy not only lives on through his family and friends but also through Dr. Clay's endless great works. God Bless

Ken and Dottie Clay were such important people in our lives! We shared so many holidays together, our children grew up together and we laughed and cried together - often! Ken was such a rock - he always had good advice and was a kind, warm listener. John, never the handyman, still thinks of Ken as so multitalented - he could do anything! We have a special place in our hearts for him and Dottie, and always will.
