Edward J. Wharton, Jr., age 81 years, died April 18 in Vitas Hospice, Stratford, NJ. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he lived in Runnemede for 37 years and Myrtle Beach for the past 10 years. He had lived in Williamstown, NJ for the last 6 months. He served in the Army Air Corps during the Korean conflict and was employed by Matlack Trucking Co., retiring in 1996 after 20 years of service. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, Laurel Lodge #237 F & AM, and Elks Lodge. He was an avid golfer and a member of the Pitman Golf Club. Predeceased by his wife Roberta J. (nee Dyke), children Thomas E., and Bonnie Bressler, and grandson Michael J. Mullinax.
Survived by his children, Susie Persichetti, Deborah Mullinax, and William F., 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
