David Christopher Wescott, age 47, died Friday May 13, 2011 at "The Health Center at Galloway". He lived in Mays Landing, and was formerly of Deptford, NJ for many years. Son of the late John T. Wescott, Sr. He is survived by his mother, Nancy M. Wescott (nee Strack), brothers John T. David was a graduate of Gloucester County Christian School, in 1983. He was a member of the first graduating class in the school's history. He played varsity soccer and baseball in high school for Coach Hawley Ham, who was a major influence during David's school years and the years to follow. As a youth, he played Little League in Deptford from ages 8-15, and played on a few championship teams for them. He was employed at Friendly's Restaurant in the Deptford Mall, where he was a hard worker and met many new friends and co-workers. He enjoyed his time there. His favorite hobby was reading, and the Bible was his favorite book. David spent many hours trying to understand God's Word, and how to impact everyone who crossed his path. He cared very much about spiritual things. He most recently was a member of the Evangel Assembly of God Church in Mays Landing. His family wishes to express much thanks and gratitude to his church family in Mays Landing, and to the staff and caregivers at "The Health Center at Galloway" for their concern and support during his illness.
