Obituary of Elizabeth Milward

Please share a memory of Elizabeth to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Elizabeth Ann (Lipsett) Milward returned home to the loving arms of our heavenly Father, on June 28th, 2011 surrounded by her devoted family and friends. Betty was born in South Philadelphia moving to her beloved Pitman in 1960, raising her family for forty years prior to her retirement to Delaware. Betty will be remembered as a woman who walked in the Grace of our Father, God. Devoted to her loving husband of fifty years, David Paul Milward and to her children Bruce and Elizabeth (Glackin) Elias, Deborah (Elias) and Craig Kier, William and Cindy (Redrow) Elias, Susan (Elias) and Randy Felten, David Milward II, Robert Milward, John and Alex (Lehnosky) Milward. Betty also loved her 33 grandchildren, and 18 great grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings Mary ((Lipsett) and Joseph Wadsworth, Ed and Mary Lipsett. She was predeceased by her sons Arthur and Greg Elias and grandson Bobby Milward. Devoted Catholic, she loved her church and her community. She believed in the power of prayer, of love and forgiveness, and lived her life accordingly. She guided us to understand that giving back is a way of life, not a choice. Betty was an accomplished waitress for 30 years of service to the Holly and Compton Inns. Betty's kindness and skill were legendary. Roberto joked that he was never sure if they came for her or the food! Her love of people made her do what she did with joy in her heart. Betty enjoyed playing cards with the girls, yelling bingo anytime and hanging with her grandchildren whenever she could. She lived, laughed and loved large! Her friends were close in her heart. To know her was truly, to love her. Momma, you are in our hearts always. Friends may call on Saturday 9:30-10:45am in Mary Mother of Mercy Parish, Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, 161 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ 08071. Funeral mass will be at 11am. Interment Private. Contributions may be made the church at the above address. Memories may be shared at www.kelleyfhpitman.com.
