I was saddened to read in today's paper of Ed's passing. Unfortunately I didn't see the obit until this evening and so missed today's tribute to his long and loving life. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family and with all of those who knew Ed as a friend, and mentor. His resiliency was unmatched, and his dedication true. He was large in life, and we are all better for knowing him and loving him. With deepest sympathy, The Robertson Family

Campbell families,
We think our parents will be there forever and sadly you realize this isn't true. I am sorry for your loss and know that you have to laugh at the great memories as well as cry to help with your healing. He left you all a great legacy--which says alot. Thoughts are with you all now and in the days to come. Take care of your mom.

We are so saddened by the passing of Ed. He was such a wonderful man. He had a special interest in the Grove with his arranging with GCIT students to build new homes for the betterment of this community. He was instrumental in helping the Grove improve in many ways and could be seen walking around and talking with the residents on any given day. He was always there to help someone with their property when he served as the Zoning Officer. Such tenacity with caring for this historical district. A statue should be erected in his memory! I'm sure he is helping the Lord prepare the rooms in the great mansion in heaven. Peace be with your family.
Fondly,
Mr. and Mrs. Russell Giberson in the Grove.

My sympathy goes out to the Campbell family.
I used to live on N. Monroe Ave. when you lived on S. Monroe in Wenonah.
Mr. Campbell taught Social Studies and Reading to my class at Wenonah Elementary School and I had him again for Reading in 7th and 8th grade at Gateway Regional. He was a great teacher - very animated and inspirational - never afraid to wake someone up with an eraser or a piece of chalk!
It was great to have a male teacher who would go out on the playground at recess and get involved in the games. If he had to leave the room he would tell us that he would expect us to be quiet and behaved and we certainly were.
One school day there was a fire in Wenonah and Mr. Campbell joined in the response. He came to class a bit late all sweaty with his face smeared with some soot, but the house was saved.
He used to be active with the Wenonah Lake Association and I can picture him down there having a good time, too.
We were lucky to have such a good man among us and we will miss him.
Sincerely,
Bob Thomas

Our deepest sympathy to the Campbell Family on your loss. Ed was a great man who inspired many. I have had the pleasure of knowing him since he was the Principal at Memorial School while I was a student there. Preston and I have shared many meal times at Hero's and Angelo's with both Ed and his wife. His smile and ready wit will be missed. Kathy Vignola and Preston Weil
