Obituary of Frederick Theodore Oltmann

Frederick Theodore Oltmann, Jr. age 91, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2021. Frederick was raised in St. Albans, Queens, NY. He received his Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stephen's Tech in 1951. In 1953, he married Doris Bachman. Frederick served in the US Army from 1953-1955. In 1955, Fred and Doris moved to Huntington Station, NY when began a career at the Brooklyn Navy Yard as a Marine Engineer. In 1965 Fred and his family moved to Turnersville and he continued his career at the Philadelphia Navy Yard. He retired in 1988. Fred served as Advisor for the BSA Explorer Post 123 in Washington Township from 1972-1987. He was a member and Elder of the First Presbyterian Church of Pitman. Fred enjoyed trains and model railroading, theater organs and, traveling in his travel trailer. He was predeceased in 2017 by his wife Doris J. (nee Bachman). Is survived by children Don (Patti), Jane (Steve Greenstreet) and grandchildren Anna and Dan. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
