Obituary of Irene R. Yarmark

Irene R. Yarmark (nee Romer), age 82 died on May 4, 2010. She was a graduate of Mt. Holly High School in 1946. A resident of Pitman for over 34 years she lived in Pittsgrove since 2003. Irene worked at 1st National Bank of Mantua then Gloucester County National Bank. She retired from 1st Fidelity Bank in 1988 having worked as a bank teller and as a clerk in the Consumer Credit Department. Prior to working at the bank, Irene worked for several years at Aura Elementary School in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Aura United Methodist Church where she held various positions on the church's Board of Trustees and was a member of the UM Women. She taught Sunday School for many years and sang in the Senior Church Choir and assisted with the Youth Choir. She also organized and directed Vacation Bible School in the early 1960's. Irene was a former member of the Chapel Heights UM Church, Sewell and St. John's UM Church, Turnersville during the 1970's and 1980's. She was involved in her daughter's Holly Shores Girl Scout Troop 276, Clayton as Treasurer during the 1960's. Irene loved to travel and enjoyed going on bus trips to visit the museums and see Broadway shows in NY and Washington, DC. Her most memorable trips were her trips to the Hawaiian Islands in 1976 and 1979 with her daughters. She was the wife of 48 years to the late Maryan Yarmark. Survived by her daughters MaryAnn (Randy) Everline of Pittsgrove, Jane (Todd) Simpson of Pittsgrove, granddaughter Randi Lyn Everline, sister Katherine (John) Pate of TX, brother George J. Romer, Jr. of Lindenwold, NJ and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Monday after 9am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be at 11am.
