Obituary of Adelaide V. Hoffner

Adelaide V. Hoffner (nee Schellinger), age 73 died on May 28, 2011 at her home in Glassboro where she lived for the past five years. She was formerly of Washington Twp and Pitman. Adelaide received her Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree from Rowan University. She began a career in education and worked for many area schools such as Washington Twp Middle School, Elk Twp Elementary and Haddonfield Middle School. She retired from Director of Guidance at Schalick High School in 1998. Adelaide was a life member of the Cape May County Historical Society, life member and volunteer with the Atlantic Heritage Center and an active member of the Mayflower Society. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Wayne S., sons Rick (Leigh) of Atlanta, GA, Jim (Cathy) of Shamong, NJ, granddaughter Kristyn and siblings Carl (Gloria) Schellinger, Bill (Linda) Schellinger, John (Karen) Schellinger, Kathy (Tony) Jungblut, Michael (Laurie) Schellinger and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call on Wednesday 7-9pm and Thursday after 10am in the Kelley Funeral Home, 125 Pitman Ave, Pitman, NJ. Funeral service will be Thursday at 11am. Interment Hillcrest Memorial Park.
